Harper opened her eyes this week, so we now have 4 open eyes from the twins. Both babies are eating more and are fed every 3 hours. Both sweet peas are 1 lb 10 oz. We have been told "trying to get to 2 lbs is the hardest, then it gets easier."
Tonight I took pictures of Pete having a conversation with Robbie. He has a small voice and does some slight cooing. Pete talks to him about their future plans and then he puts his ear up to the incubator and listens for a response. Of course, he always gets tears in his eyes, we are criers in this family.
First twins experience: Robbie had his art line taken out since he was doing fine after heart surgery. 5 minutes later, Harper pulled her line out. Nurse Glenda told me it was like she was saying, "If he doesn't have to have one, neither do I." The nurses say they communicate through their blood pressure/oxygen monitors. When one starts beeping, the other beeps back. Coincidence? You be the judge.
I love Pete listening for a response. Bonding at its finest.
ReplyDeletePeter, you are so blessed........
