Today Harper's weight was 4 lbs 0 oz, & Robbie was 4 lbs 1 oz. We are ecstatic at this milestone!
The babies received their first baby blankets from Jack and Karen Kometer, and the nurses told us to sleep with the blankets in our bed for a few nights and then bring them in so the babies can be wrapped in our scent while they sleep. It feels good to do small things that we know are making our babies stronger and happy.
They both received their 2 month vaccinations yesterday and were feeling under the weather afterwards. Slightly feverish and a bit crabby was the mood we saw for the first time.
Both kids are receiving physical therapy 2-3 times per week now so the therapists can help them to reach their milestones as quickly as possible, without much delay. They are learning fine muscle control they would have learned naturally from growing bigger and bigger inside a small womb. They are also learning to comfort themselves by moving into a fetal position. Because they were born about 3-4 months early, they are expected to be about 3-4 months behind in milestones, like rolling over and walking, but we are hoping to prevent anything more than 3 months by starting the physical therapy early on.
