St. Joes Talent

Laurie RN is a great nurse and has a great attitude. She has talked me through discouragement, obsessive thoughts and endless questioning many times. She truly believes this has happened for a very important reason, like Robbie is going to grow up to be a Neonatologist, or Harper is going to be an inventor and they will make a difference in the lives of future preemies. Laurie has also been my unofficial therapist during this time in my life.
This is Lisa RN and we have spent many days learning from her. She has taught Pete and I how to stop being the laid back middle children we are (now that we have kids) and start being the strong, advocating parents we need to be. She has taught us many aspects of parenting and did not judge the fact that we knew nothing about babies, preemies, diapers, pacifiers, onesies, or holding techniques.
Dr. Cristina Mogos is the primary physician for the kids, and has been there since I was having contractions in the ER. She has been straight forward since the beginning and we trust and respect her and all her decisions. Thank God, because every time she sees the kids we get a bill for $700. Hawaii is so lucky to have her, and Phoenix was lucky to have her for the time we did.
Alma RN multitasks all night long. I have learned a lot about doing many things at once which I will have to ulitilize once the kids come home and I never sit down again.

Susie RN works nights and has followed and documented our kids milestones since day 1. She met me and the twins the night the kids were born but I have no recollection of it. She has a beautiful heart. She makes Harper headbands and buys the twins baby blankets. She loves the babies and we all love her.

Glenda RN works weekends and even though she has many kids herself, she always has more love in her heart for the twins. She would do anything for them and would never let anything happen to them. We trust her and she is a valuable nurse.

Gina RN is so easy going and will help us with any problem in a very loving and patient way. You have never met a more genuine person, what a great characteristic to have in a nurse.

This pic was taken of Michelle and Amber the day of the kids heart surgeries. They called it "Groupon PDA Day" because the kids had the PDA heart surgery on the same day. Pete and I had a hard time that day, but we have come so far since then, and the nurses have helped us through a lot. Michelle RN, on left, has been with the twins since the beginning and has done so much for them and for us we will forever be grateful to her.

This is Marilyn, the St. Joes Nicu social worker. She has been working in the nicu with preemies for 20 years. She came to see me the day after the kids were born and asked if I had any questions. I asked, "Do you know anything about preemies?" She tells me today, "I knew I better sit down." Turns out she knows everything about preemies and nicus and has taken me through it. I am grateful to her for all her help along the way. She is an amazing woman and very gifted at her job. St. Joes is lucky to have her.
