Napping with Nana K
Harper Karly:
Loves to nurse, look around, is quiet and observant. When she wants to nurse, she pulls down my shirt straps, she won't take no for an answer. When Pete gets in the shower and it can be only slightly heard from the living room, she stops sucking her pacifier and looks around. She notices everything. When Robbie cries, she puts out her bottom lip. She is sweet and adorable. She sleeps with a special pillow we are using to try to round out her head so she doesn't have to use a $4000 helmet later. It's purely cosmetic, but preemies tend to have long narrow faces and it's often corrected with a helmet. We love to dress her up. Her reflux is worse than Robbies and when she struggles, it could break your heart. I tell her, with all the jerks in the world, YOU have to suffer? Not fair.
Robinson Matthew:
Wears a lot of baseball clothes, is strong and likes attention. Doesn't like to be alone and is held most of the day. Is a good sleeper at night, reflux not as bad or at least he doesn't show it. Likes to watch tv, especially "Ellen" and likes to be talked to. Wants to be walked around the house constantly, and also outside in the backyard. Will absolutely not be swaddled. Has 1000 facial expressions, and talks every minute of the day.
Mom Update:
Every day I am grateful for what we have. The kids have been amazing in their accomplishments. They have defied the odds and I know that. They are not showing any delays or difficulties as a result of being a preemie so far. We are hoping for continued successes. Daily I fear SIDS, cerebral palsy, and autism, all are more common with preemies than full term babies. But I try to let my fears fall to the side as much as I can and enjoy every moment. I am grateful I have not had any post partum, have always felt great physically and have an awesome husband who has always remained optimistic and upbeat through this entire experience.
Unshowered and no make up.....my new look!
Your new look is fantastic! It says "happy" and that's what matters most. Love reading your updates and seeing Harper and Robbie change and grow.

I cannot wait to meet these children. They are amazing. To see the photo of Robbie sitting up in that Bumbo chair below is amazing. To see how far they have both come and how tiny they once were is amazing. You and Pete are amazing. I am so happy that you are all so happy and healthy.
