Robbie Waving/Harper with Dad's finger/Harper with dad's wedding ring

This is a picture of Harper with Dad's wedding ring on her arm.

Robbie's head scan shows the bleed is approximately the same today as his first scan. I was kind of sad to hear the news but doc says not to be discouraged, the good news is that it is not worse, it is not on both sides, and it was never expected to heal within a few days. Harper and Robbie were moved into the same pod today so maybe they will help heal each other.

Robbie was taken off  "critical" status today (!!!!!) because he is going strong into his second week of life.

Doc says next week we may be able to hold them for an hour a day; they call this Kangaroo Care, and it's skin to skin contact, cradling the babies against our chests, under a blanket. Apparently the research says this is how babies heal the fastest, reduces chances of infection the most, develop faster, and go home the healthiest. Kangaroo Care is the main philosophy of St. Joes Nicu.

  1. I'm happy to hear that they are in the same snuggly pod! That seems like an important step...

  2. They sound and look like fighters. So glad you will get to start holding them!
