We are Kangaroos now

Robbie's big day. He was held today for the first time for about 90 minutes. It was an unbelievable experience and I was again, in heaven. With Kangaroo Care, the theory is that the babies fall into a tremendously deep sleep almost immediately upon being placed on a parent's skin. During this sleep, they are able to heal on a deeper level than when they are in the incubator. This is exactly what happened with baby Robbie. He did not move for 90 minutes straight. If they would let me hold him all day, I would have to quit my job, I would never be able to leave. I actually feel like a very natural mother. With Robbie and Harper in my arms, I have never felt more at peace, a true calm.

They slide his body right inside my shirt

  1. Words cannot explain the emotions of seeing my sis with her little one. So beautiful... such a miracle.
