  
4/23/2012 Today was an amazing day for Pete and I. Harper was stable enough to be held and I was allowed to hold her for a couple of hours in the kangaroo style cuddling. She tolerated it very well and it will continue tomorrow. We were also told that Robbie could start the holding tomorrow as well, so Pete and I will take turns with the babies.

| Robbie 4/21/2012 is 580 gms or 1 lb 4.5 oz today. It is common to go up and down in weight for the first few weeks. More big news: Robbie opened his eyes today. We cried like it was our wedding day. He still does the photo light therapy on and off every couple of days, so we could not see it constantly, but the nurse took off his eye shade and turned down the photo light so we could see it for a minute. Right eye opened at 8am, left eye opened at noon. Oh the things we take for granted! |

| Harper 4/21/2012 is 630 gms or 1 lb 6 oz today
Parent update: Harper and Robbie are 10 days old this weekend, and after a crazy first week, we are settling into our routine. We slept at home over the weekend and it was luxurious and exciting. Bottled water, cereal, clean laundry and a robe seemed like comfort. We even tried to watch a movie Saturday night but I only stayed awake for about 20 minutes.

ReplyDeleteOh the things we take for granted... you are so right. Your daily stories inspire me to become a better parent. I'm going to use a deeper sense of gratitude and respect with my girls when I start to lose my patience over sleepless nights and temper tantrums.
You are amazing parents already, and you've only been at it for 10+ days!
I love the pictures, I'm so glad the babies are progressing so beautifully. I miss you both and I really miss seeing Robbie and Harper......kisses and hugs from me.
